Megan E. Couri

Probation Officer by day and artist by night, my interests and talents have never been “normal” yet seem to be strangely interlinked. My work by day mandates people to act within “socially acceptable behaviors” and requires a stern authority that allows for little wiggle room. My work by night allows me to throw that through the window and “defy the norm” through art.

I worked hard as an artist at Richwoods High School earning second place at the senior art show in 2001, being honored the Jannette Faye Browning Artist Talent Award, and Winning Honorable Mention and Best in Show for the Ray LaHood Art Competition. I followed my art at St. Ambrose University and earned a B/A in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Studio Art.

My art has always complimented my life and a dear friend told me once “A great artists work changes with their life experiences…that’s why its important to never let it die”. – Patrick.

I adore working with PrismaColor because I feel this is a medium that creates a smooth, organized, and detailed look. I love working with Acrylics because I can’t wait to see where the brush takes me…no boundaries. Funny, sounds like my two work habits.
