Lauren grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois a northwest suburb of Chicago. She took many Art classes, specializing in drawing. She came to Bradley to pursue her college degree in Art Education. She is set to graduate end of the 2010-2011 school year.

Since the age of four, art has always been a huge influence in her life.
Her family took many visits to the Art Institute in Chicago that framed her view of art and gave her a foundation for the art that she produced at school.

Her water series pieces were featured in a solo Art show in the north suburbs of Chicago during the summer of 2010.

Water series Artist statement
This series of work represents my passion for observing the different aspects in the movement of water. By paying close attention to detail, color and by staying true to nature, I aim to portray the heart of each image. I hope my artwork engages the viewer and establishes a connection that runs deeper than the surface.

When creating my pieces I look to challenge myself artistically. I am drawn to images that allow me to respect tradition and nature but also push the limitations they impose. I strive to achieve a classic element while also adding my own perspective. My use of various drawing and painting techniques allow me to capture a unique moment in time.

I believe that the simple beauty of water is something everybody can respect and relate to. I formed this series by exploring how different mediums can work together to communicate the inspiring qualities of water. It is with these compositions that I intend to convey the Means of Nature.
