DAVE KUBE Photography, Video (217) 638-1774 Bio Info Queer theory is the academic approach to discuss how identity is formed and how those not within the sexual majority behave within the confines of a marginalized group. My work questions how identity is placed upon gay men and their reactions to this often socially stigmatized counter-culture. I explore personal experiences as well as experiences that fall within the inherent scope of living as a gay man. Dave Kube received his BA in digital media from University of Illinois Springfield and his MFA in photography from Tyler School of Art. His primary interests are in queer theory and contemporary art and culture. Dave Kube currently resides in Peoria, IL with his partner. Kube is a Visiting Associate Professor in Digital Media at the University of Illinois Springfield. When he is not teaching, he spends his time working on new bodies of work. |
